General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that when Esme Prince (Avery Pohl) fell overboard with Spencer Cassadine (Nicholas Alexander Chavez) on the January 31 episode, it marked the end of her GH run. A spokesperson for the show confirmed Avery Pohl’s exit to SOD, so that’s a wrap for Esme!
It’s been a long and winding road since Pohl first appeared as Esme back in August 2021.
Esme made her mark right away as the resident bad girl of the younger set – and things got even more sinister once her biological parents were revealed.
Since Esme Prince is the daughter of diabolical Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) and deranged Heather Webber (Alley Mills), she definitely had villainous blood running through her veins.
Of course, the show eventually offered a halfhearted attempt at redemption by giving Esme amnesia and letting her play the part of a doting mom to Ace Cassadine (Jay and Joey Clay).
However, it was always just a matter of time until Esme’s memories returned and her true self came roaring to the surface.
As for Esme Prince’s departure, she made quite the splash – literally! Now Esme has been presumed deceased in the cold waters she tumbled into, but could she return somewhere down the line?
Time will tell, but there’s no hard evidence of her demise without a body. Plus, we know Spencer survived since Nicholas Alexander Chavez is set to return once he finishes filming his new show on Netflix.
That might open the door to Esme showing back up alive at some point, but we’ve got confirmation that this was indeed Avery Pohl’s exit arc.
Tabyana Ali (Trina Robinson) spoke to SOD about Pohl’s emotional final day on set, which brought plenty of bouquets, presents and tearful embraces.
Although Ali actually lives near Pohl and is still going to see her often, she hated that she wouldn’t be able to see her at work anymore.
It’s nice to know that although Trina and Esme are bitter enemies, Ali and Pohl became good friends behind the scenes!
