General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that John Brennan (Charles Mesure) may not be done with Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) just yet. GH fans were shocked as Brennan’s story seemingly hurtled toward a rushed conclusion when he was arrested in the December 19 episode.
Of course, it hasn’t been that long since Brennan debuted! It felt like there was more gas left in the tank for Brennan’s part of this storyline, but the writers are apparently some changes and pivoting to some new storylines instead.
That’s good news in some ways since most of us can agree several stories have been stalled lately.
At the same, time there’s a lot of untapped potential here since Brennan and Carly had such an interesting vibe.
There was some chemistry between them, even when Carly was going up against Brennan in a fight for her life!
Ever since Brennan met Carly, it felt like there was a bit of an obsession developing on his end.
Ryan Chamberlain (Jon Lindstrom) couldn’t stop thinking about Ava Jerome (Maura West) when he was locked up, so it always gave viewers something to look forward to when he escaped.
We always knew it was just a matter of time until Ryan went after his obsession once again.
Brennan obviously isn’t as deranged as Ryan was, but the idea of making Carly his fixation could be intriguing.
Now that Brennan’s been taken into custody, he could wind up obsessing over Carly behind bars – setting the stage for him to make his getaway and target her again one day.
That day might even come sooner than anyone expects if Brennan uses his connections to escape during transport.
There are plenty of opportunities for trouble, so this is something worth speculating on.
Charles Mesure liked a post on X, the social media app formerly known as Twitter, that hinted about Brennan’s return.
In that post, a fan pointed out that Brennan got slapped with a tray and still fell even harder for Carly, so “fingers crossed that he’ll be back.”
Brennan did suggest to Carly that perhaps they had a case of wrong timing before he was led away, so maybe he’ll decide the timing’s right sooner or later!
Since Brennan is still alive and not in a body bag, that leaves the door open for more drama.
