Robyn Brown Manipulated Her Way Into Becoming Kody’s Sole Wife (How Did She Do It?)

Sister Wives patriarch Kody Brown may have been manipulated by his only remaining wife, Robyn Brown, for the entirety of their marriage without him realizing it. Throughout his time with Robyn, who he’s been legally married to since 2014, Kody has proven that he plays favorites regarding his wives. While some were under the impression that Kody fell for Robyn more naturally than he did for his other wives, Christine Brown, Janelle Brown, and Meri Brown, others believe that Robyn has been manipulating Kody for the duration of their relationship.

From getting Kody to legally adopt her children to pushing monogamy, Robyn has always pushed her husband in the direction she wants rather than what’s best for the family. While Kody was still married to his previous wives, Robyn often mentioned things being best for the entire Brown family when making decisions that only benefited her own family, including her children. With Sister Wives season 18 showing the dissolution of Kody’s marriages to Meri and Janelle, it seems evident that Robyn has done her best to manipulate her way into being the only wife.

Robyn Filled Kody’s Need For A Romantic Relationship Like He Had With Meri

As Kody’s first wife, he shared a special relationship with Meri, even if it didn’t always seem like it. While Meri and Kody’s relationship was strained most of their time together, they chose to get married of their own volition. After over 30 years together as a couple, it was clear that Kody and Meri’s spark had faded. Still, the longevity of their relationship kept Meri fighting for their marriage for years after it seemed Kody had stopped trying.

Robyn has manipulated Kody by taking over the need he felt for a romantic relationship, which he initially filled with his marriage to Meri. Early in their relationship, Kody and Meri have both made it abundantly clear that they were very in love. By giving him a new outlook on romantic love, Robyn was able to position herself in a better spot than Meri, making Kody feel loved and secure in their relationship. As she grew closer, Robyn became the “favorite”, allowing Kody to replace his feelings for Meri with something new.

Robyn Became A Loyal Follower Of Kody Like Janelle Once Was

As he sought more wives to join his plural marriage, Kody hoped to find women with specific qualities. He wanted to be a strong patriarch, so he would need women who wouldn’t question his authority. Kody has a strong personality, so it’s likely that in his younger years, his character was even more robust. When Kody and Janelle met, he navigated her how he wanted to and ensured that she followed his lead, regardless of what that meant for Janelle and her wishes.

Robyn has always been able to put her own will to the side and follow Kody’s, even if it’s not what’s best for her at the time. She trusts Kody inherently, and though she will, at times, make her opinions known, she lets her husband lead their family in entirety. Throughout Sister Wives season 18, it will likely be apparent that Janelle has fallen out of step with what Kody wants. Janelle has become far less of a follower, while Robyn has manipulated her closer to Kody by following his lead.

Robyn Played The Listening Ear For Kody Like Christine Had Been

Although Christine was always the wife who joined the family last, she provided something for Kody during their marriage that his other wives couldn’t offer. Christine, who was married to Kody for nearly 30 years before their divorce in 2021, was able to be a listening ear for Kody. She offered counsel about his other marriages and their family issues, keeping herself a neutral third party so that Kody had someone to vent to. Throughout their time together, Christine could support Kody in a way he hadn’t felt supported before.

When Robyn joined the family, Christine was no longer the newest wife, and Kody had another listening ear. As someone unfamiliar with the family dynamics, Robyn was able to offer counsel to Kody about his other wives with an unbiased opinion. Robyn was able to overstep Christine’s ability to listen, manipulating Kody into feeling she’s the best possible person for him. Robyn has been able to push Kody into making her his “favorite” wife throughout the run of Sister Wives by co-opting qualities from his former wives, making her appear the best possible person for him.
