Will Kody Brown be able to convince Janelle to rejoin their plural family?
Fans are excited to catch the Sister Wives Season 18 premiere tonight on TLC. Without a doubt, it’s going to be another rollercoaster of a season. Previews indicate that Janelle is following in Christine’s footsteps and is walking away from polygamy.
Although Kody hasn’t shown interest in Janelle in quite some time, the teasers indicate he’s not happy about her choice to leave. So what will he do?
Kody Brown wants to reconcile, Redditors urge Janelle to run
As of 2023, Kody Brown is down to one wife. He’s reportedly estranged from his three ex-wives and most of his children. Now that the family has completely broken down, is he scheming to get any of them back?
“Kody still wants to reconcile with Janelle. 😂” one Redditor wrote online this week. “I read the most recent PEOPLE article this morning. The one sentence that stood out is that Kody is still seeking reconciliation with Janelle. Dudebro, she don’t want you. She’s infinitely happier without you. She barely wanted to be with you when you were married to her. She’s going to be better than fine, so why drag her back into your hot mess of a life?”
“Wants to reconcile with Janelle’s money*,” another Redditor joked. “There, I fixed it for you.”
Plenty of other Reddit users agreed with this comment, noting that Kody and Robyn would have trouble funding their lifestyle now.
“I think Janelle was pretty clear about her boundaries and what she needed as a bare minimum to continue with him. (Stop raiding the family accounts, keep promises about building, take responsibility for his part in COVID issues and fix things with her kids),” another Redditor chimed in. “He’s not willing to budge, he just wants her to bow down to him and Robyn and bring her wallet back.”
The family patriarch says he’s remorseful
Over the past 17 seasons, Sister Wives fans have watched Kody Brown deflect blame for many of his actions. But it seems that he might actually feel regret this time.
“I could have done a lot better. Every day I think about a place where if I would’ve managed things differently, if I would’ve said something differently, we might have moved forward in a different way,” Kody admitted in the previously mentioned PEOPLE interview. “It’s hard to say that because you get in a place where you feel like, ‘Is my life still headed the direction that it’s supposed to?’”
At this point, it’s not immediately clear if he plans to win his ex-wives back. However, he did go on to say that he doesn’t see plural marriage being part of his life moving forward.
