General Hospital has just turned 60, and it is no small feat. In today’s unpredictable world the shelf life for absolutely everything has become extremely short. Some shows don’t even get to live beyond the first season. And here we have a show that has been thriving for six decades! not seasons, decades! And all thanks to the dedicated cast & crew, and above everything else the loyal fanbase. Thus, to celebrate the massive milestone, GH aired a special primetime episode.
While, it was certainly a phenomenal celebration of sixty years of success, it also ended up giving General Hospital fans some unintentional laughs. The special episode featured some behind the scenes footage, that appeared to go several months back. Even covering, Portia and Curtis’ wedding. But did it really? Because eagle eyed fans caught on to some bloopers that suggest otherwise!
In the BTS footage Curtis dressed as a groom talks about wanting to get up, walk, and dance again on General Hospital. But, the thing is The Metro Court shooting that left him paralyzed happened months after the wedding must’ve been filmed. So, how did Donnell (Curtis) make that reference? Unless, of course, the BTS was not a real BTS, but a staged one that was recorded recently.
In a similar goof-up, Portia’s nails from the wedding episode do not match her nails in the Behind The Scenes footage on General Hospital. In fact, her earrings appear to be different too. Likewise, Chandra’s hairdo is different in the real Nurses Ball, and the intended BTS. So what’s up GH? We get it that the makers were trying to make it look like they had been planning this special episode all year long. But was it really necessary?
General Hospital fans would have been equally happy to have just seen their favs casually speak about their favorite storylines, or the ones they would like to feature in the future. Anyhoo, it was still one blast of an episode, and we are happy for the solid achievement so we’ll let the little blooper slide. Especially, since the makers did give us a massive surprise by bringing Steve Burton back! How excited are you for that? Tell us in the comments.
