General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Steve Burton (Jason Morgan) recently shared some huge news that left the soap world buzzing about his future. Burton currently airs as Harris Michaels on Days of Our Lives, but he’s filmed his final scenes now that he’s finished his one-year contract.
After Burton revealed his DOOL departure via The Daily Drama, GH fans immediately lit up social media with speculation about his return to the role of Jason Morgan. Could a Jason comeback already be in the works?
Nothing has been confirmed yet, but it seems like a safe bet that Steve Burton will reprise his popular role at some point.
The vaccine mandate that Burton previously refused to comply with has been lifted, so there’s no reason why Jason can’t make his long-awaited return.
Back in 2021, Jason was believed to be a goner following a dramatic cave-in. However, there’s no real evidence that Jason suffered a grim fate.
When it comes to soaps, characters tend to come back from the grave pretty often. That’s especially true when no body has been recovered – just like in this situation with Jason.
It’d be easy to explain that Jason was pulled out of the rubble and held hostage somewhere after a lengthy recovery process. There could be some twisted villain running the show.
Jason might still be in captivity, so maybe there could be an epic rescue story – or perhaps he could escape to make his Port Charles comeback.
Whatever the case, Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) is currently dealing with the loss of Bobbie Spencer (Jacklyn Zeman), so she’s drowning in grief.
Just imagine how it’d warm Carly’s heart if Jason was revealed to be alive!
Of course, plenty of other characters would be affected by Jason’s return, including Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison), Monica Quartermaine (Leslie Charleson) and so many more.
Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) would definitely be elated to find out Jason survived – and the same goes for Jason’s kids, Danny Morgan (Asher Jared Antonyzyn) and Jake Webber (Hudson West).
