John J. York Updates Fans on Cancer Fight – Reveals When Mac Scorpio Could Return to GH

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that John J. York (Mac Scorpio) recently hopped on social media and offered updates on his condition in a new video. Mac is off-screen in Argentina on a very hush-hush mission, but the behind-the-scenes explanation for his disappearance involves York’s medical leave.

York has been battling myelodysplastic syndrome and multiple smoldering myeloma with the help of a stem cell transplant, so he wanted to check in with fans and share how everything was going.

Ever since York first revealed his blood and bone marrow cancer battle, he’s received plenty of support from GH viewers as well as the cast and crew.

We’re all pulling for York as he fights to recover and hopefully get back to doing what he loves.

In John J. York’s latest video, he cracked some jokes about his hair loss, so he’s staying in good spirits despite the side effects of his treatment.

The important thing is getting York healthy again, so he shared some positive news about his efforts.

“I wanted to give you a little update as to how things were going along. They’re actually going along very well,” York said.

Although York acknowledged that he was “still in the middle stages of everything” and has a “long road ahead,” he was hopeful about his test results and assured fans that he’s “feeling really good.”

If things keep going the way they are now, York suggested that he might be back on the show by late spring or early summer.

That’s obviously not set in stone, but it’s nice of York to offer an estimate on when we might see Mac Scorpio again.

York’s health has to come first, but we can still miss Mac in the meantime!

York concluded his message by thanking everyone for sending him so much love and support.

It’s easy to see how touched York is by all the well wishes and notes of positivity that he’s been receiving.

York vowed to take care of this battle “one day at a time” before urging those who celebrate to have a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
