General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) is finally out of Pentonville, but that doesn’t mean he’s forgotten everything he’s been through. Drew has struggled with a great deal of physical and emotional turmoil that’ll affect his actions moving forward.
Of course, GH fans can’t forget that Cyrus Renault (Jeff Kober) is now a free man as well.
Cyrus has already been doing things like showing up at Kelly’s looking for a job, so Drew isn’t going to approve of his former fellow inmate sniffing around Carly Spencer (Laura Wright)
Unfortunately, Cyrus seems somewhat fixated on Carly, which makes sense considering she’s Sonny Corinthos’ (Maurice Benard) ex-wife and previously ran Sonny’s organization in his absence.
Since Cyrus is so focused on emulating Sonny and gaining some respect despite his mistakes, he may remain drawn to Carly as a huge part of Sonny’s past.
That’s not going to work for Drew, who’ll become increasingly determined to protect Carly, Scout Cain (Cosette Abinante), Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco) and everyone else he cares about.
Cyrus likes to stir the pot and could mess with Drew by getting too close to the people he loves, but this villain could live to regret it!
In a recent interview with SOD, Cameron Mathison opened up about Drew’s prison nightmare and how “everything that he went through tweaked something in him a little bit.”
Mathison suggested that Drew’s realizing how short life can be and acting accordingly.
“It’s a little less of the peace, love and understanding [attitude] and more like, ‘You’ve got to protect yourself and your loved ones at all costs,’” Mathison said.
Of course, that almost makes it sound like Cyrus should be afraid of Drew, who was once a very dangerous programmed soldier!
Even if that conditioning isn’t reactivated, it’s still buried under the surface somewhere. A hint of that programmed soldier side could come out and leave Cyrus in danger if he’s not careful.
Sadly, Drew could also risk going back to Pentonville if he goes too far, especially since he’s still on a six-month probation and needs to be on his best behavior.
General Hospital spoilers say Drew could face terrible news if he loses it on Cyrus and tries to harm him in some way, so stay tuned for updates on any chaos that might be looming.
