Sister Wives returned on Sunday night for Season 18. However, by the end of the premiere episode, most fans were unsatisfied. Outside of the fans who felt that there wasn’t enough new material in the episode, there were several more fans who felt that what was new wasn’t good enough for what these reality TV stars are paid.

Fans felt Sister Wives stars didn’t deliver in the premiere
After the Sister Wives Season 18 premiere finished, fans flocked online to complain about what they just saw. There were plenty of Sister Wives fans who hated the fact that six minutes of the episode was recaps from last season and only 35 minutes of the hour was left for new material. Even that was mostly a recap of last season.
However, the fans felt that what was new wasn’t worth whatever the Brown family gets paid. A Reddit thread was started with the title, “I hope all these people got pay cuts.” The OP then went on to explain what happened in the episode and how it seemed the Brown family wasn’t even trying anymore. They wanted drama but said all they got was poorly delivered scenes.
The OP mentioned that Janelle and Christine built a shelf and delivered a “very rehearsed conversation.” Kody and Christine had chips and salsa in a restaurant. While Christine was mocking him the entire time, the OP said it was “babble about nothing.” Robyn gave what they referred to as “a monologue” to Meri. They then said that it seemed the cast didn’t give any effort.
The OP then mentioned that early episodes of Sister Wives had several locations and backdrops and a camera crew following them everywhere. They said it seems like a camera guy shows up now with his tripod, films them for 45 minutes, and then goes home. Other commenters agreed, with one writing that “they better wise up if they want people to watch it as it airs.”
Sister Wives has a tough season to deliver
There is a lot that will happen in Sister Wives Season 18. Many of the scenes seemed rehearsed or fake, but a lot of this season’s drama is real. Christine left and her moments seemed real in the confessionals at least. It also seemed nice to see her putting Kody in his place at the restaurant.
However, both Janelle and Meri are leaving Kody this season as well. Fans should remain ready for more of Robyn’s crying moments. However, more real moments remain involved as the two women finally buckle down and leave the family.
