Christine Brown & David Woolley Are Both AUB Royalty?

Christine Brown and David Woolley tied the knot and when Sister Wives: Christine and David’s Wedding played out on TLC, fans saw her dad, Rex Allred who is AUB royalty, and now fans wonder if both newlyweds are royalty. Read on to find out what people are asking about the Apostolic United Brethren church connection.

Christine Brown And David Woolley Did Not Exchange Vows

Kody Brown’s former wife did not exchange vows when she married her new husband. It’s not clear why unless neither of them practices any Mormon faith at this time. However she did feel that it seemed a bit silly to take vows when they were already fully committed to each other. Though, some Sister Wives fans suspect that there is a connection between the couple and the AUB.

Christine Brown and David Woolley were not married by a Temple priest. Instead, Corbin, the husband of David’s daughter, Kati Charlene married them. He told his new brother-in-law, Tony Padron that he had a certificate and it cost him some money to buy the licence to officiate. So, it doesn’t seem as if Corbin is a member of the AUB’s priesthood.

Connection To The AUB Founders?

On Reddit, people discussed the Mormon religion because they know that David has a large family and it’s known that some relatives have plural marriages. The OP Said:

Woolley -founder of AUB…. David’s grandparent??
Looked up AUB on Wikipedia and saw the nod to the Browns as famous members, but also noticed that the Founder of their religion was named Liam Woolley! Perhaps why Christines dad was ok with [t]he choice because David is related to the founder??? Interesting thought.

It’s not clear which site they looked at, but the Wikipedia page for the Apostolic United Brethren does mention the TLC family from Sister Wives. However, we were unable to find a reference to Liam Woolley. Nonetheless, it mentioned Lorin Calvin Woolley who was “excommunicated from the LDS Church for performing plural marriages in April 1914.”

Christine Brown & David Woolley Are Both From AUB Royalty?

Lorin Calvin Woolley is named as a founder of the AUB. But out of his nine sons, he didn’t have one named Roy Oliver. And, none of their offspring were called Roy, either. Getting lost? Well, Roy might be important in linking David Woolley to the founder of the AUB or not.  In April last year, Soap Opera Spy carried a story about David Woolley and his possible connection to the LDS via his father.

Citing an obituary for a Roy Oliver Woolley who married Evelyn Minnie Pratt, and another for David’s late wife Margaret Lucille Suliin Woolley, it seemed that they were able to link Christine’s husband to the LDS, if not to the AUB. Apparently, Roy Woolley joined the LDS during World War II and later became a member of the High Priest Quorum. However, the article couldn’t confirm the information because there are many Woolleys in the USA.

In the article, it was noted that Roy’s obituary also mentioned Margaret, the wife of David Woolley.

In the obituary, it mentioned who died before Roy, and one of them was “Margaret Sullin Woolley (David).” Those who he left behind included a son, “David Pratt Woolley.” With TLC fans knowing that a David Woolley married a Margaret Sullin who had a mother with the same name as his daughter Kati Charlene, it seems very possible that David has strong connections to the LDS.

Frankly, trying to find a direct connection from Christine Brown’s husband David Woolley to one of the AUB founders seems very difficult. Bear in mind, that the LDS and the AUB are different sects in the Mormon faith. Many Woolleys were polygamists themselves and countless wiki pages are dedicated to the family ancestry. As one member of the Reddit discussion pointed out:

They should both do an AMA. Inquiring minds want to know.

What are your thoughts? Do you think that Christine Brown and David Woolley are both AUB royalty, even if he is distantly related? Shout out in the comments below, and come back here for all your Sister Wives news.
