Meri Brown Doesn’t Want Kody to ‘Interpret’ Her Utah Move as Being ‘Done’ with Their Marriage

The two legally divorced in 2014 but intended to remain in each other's lives

The Sister Wives drama surrounding Meri Brown continues.

Meri and Kody Brown

From her public divorce from Kody Brown to getting catfished by a woman, Meri, 52, has dealt with her fair share of difficulties on the popular TLC series. As her nearly non-existent relationship with Kody, 54, grows more distant amid ongoing family tension, Meri has decided to move her Lula Roe clothing business up to the carriage house of her bed and breakfast in Parowan, Utah. But she’s not sure how Kody will take her decision.

In Sunday’s episode, Meri opened up about her concerns to her longtime BFF, Jen Sullivan, who runs Meri’s B&B, Lizzie’s Heritage Inn, while Meri spends the majority of her time in Flagstaff, Arizona.

“It causes me a lot of anxiety. But yes, I’m going to move the clothing up here, so that I can be here more often. You can help me with that part of it,” Meri told Jen, who expressed how happy she is to have the TLC personality nearby more regularly

And while Meri explained that she, too, is looking forward to spending more time with her friend — and having all of her work in the same place — she doesn’t want Kody to feel as though she wants nothing to do with him.

“I’d like my relationship with Kody to get to a place where we have, like, a good marriage relationship, but that’s not where it is right now,” she explained. “And I feel like when I tell him I’m going to be moving my business up to the B&B, he’s going to interpret that as that I am done with this relationship. And that’s not where I am.”

Although the pair haven’t discussed her move just yet, the preview for next week’s episode shows Meri telling Kody’s fourth wife, Robyn Brown, about her planned move — and Robyn appears to be upset that she is (mostly) leaving for good.

“Meri, he talks about us all on the property still,” Robyn, 44, tells Meri in the sneak peek.

“There’s no question Robyn, he’s done with me,” Meri responds, before the camera cuts to Robyn sobbing in a separate confessional.

“Please figure it out with us here,” Robyn says, in tears.

Despite their legal divorce in 2014, Kody and Meri decided to remain “spiritually married” until they announced their official split in January. Kody also separated from his third wife, Christine Brown, in 2021 and his second wife, Janelle Brown, in 2022.

Earlier this month, Meri shared on Instagram that she is welcoming happiness back into her life, post-split. “Bring on the joy, bring on the fun, bring on the success! Happiness feels good!” she captioned the post, adding “#WorthyUp” and “#GreatnessBeginsToday.”

Meri spoke further about her path forward in an interview with PEOPLE in August, saying “things are good” between her blossoming friendships and her successful business.

She also noted, at the time, that a large reason her relationship with Kody ended was due to jealousy. “Anytime that you expand your family, there’s going to be a shift,” Meri told PEOPLE. “You’ve got just the logistical things, but then you’ve also got the emotional things. I’m human. I’m going to get jealous. He’s human. He is going to not know how to deal with a woman’s jealousy.”
