New Update: Meri Thinks Kody’s The Villain In Their Split (But She Is Too)

Sister Wives star Meri Brown is always whining about Kody, but the truth is that their split was her fault too. Why does he get all the blame?

  •  Meri Brown blames Kody for their breakup, but she needs to take some accountability for staying in a stagnant and miserable marriage.
  •  Meri may have stayed with Kody for financial reasons, as being a part of the Brown family allowed her to generate income.
  •  While Kody may have neglected Meri, and caused her to seek an emotional connection elsewhere, she cheated and complained instead of taking decisive action. Blaming Kody for everything won’t help her to heal.

Sister Wives celeb Meri Brown’s known for her cryptic posts about Kody Brown, but she’s now firing direct shots by blaming him for their breakup, and it’s time to talk about why both people are at fault. Kody’s getting shade from every ex-wife, as his only remaining spouse, Robyn Brown, went outside their relationship to let the world know that she wants a monogamous marriage. He’s used to the attacks, which are so predictable. However, he may still get riled up when Meri puts him down. He may see her as the villain in their split. Does Meri deserve to be held accountable for what she’s done to her ex-husband?

At first, Meri seemed happy. She was Kody’s legal wife, and a proponent of polygamy. Back then, Meri and Kody were in tune. Many long-term fans of the show probably look back on those days, wishing that they could have continued. However, the Brown family was destined to hit the rocks. All the world’s a stage, and in the Sister Wives saga, Robyn entered from stage left, stealing the spotlight from Meri, Janelle and Christine Brown. Meri, who enjoyed the cachet of being the first wife, had to give up that coveted position so Robyn could become the legal wife.

Meri’s Sounding Off About Her Awful Marriage

For the umpteenth time, Meri got cryptic about her reasons for leaving a man who’d actually pulled away from her emotionally years ago. However, this time, the meaning behind her words was so transparent. While Meri claimed to, “cherish the past,” as per Instagram, she went low by talking about moving on from what was, “holding me back” and, “holding me down.” It’s doubtful that anyone who read that didn’t think she was talking about Kody. Of course, she was.

Was Kody really holding her back, or was she doing that herself? After years of feeling dissed by her own husband, she kept hanging in there, venting on IG instead of just laying it on the line with Kody. Wouldn’t she have been better off walking out, or giving him an ultimatum? While it’s understandable, in light of her religious upbringing, that she wanted to make things work, she stayed for way too long.

At a certain point, Meri and Kody had said all there was to say. He’d shut down, and since her words were rendered useless, action (i.e. dumping the man who’d technically ditched her eons ago) was the only practical option. Kody wanted to be dumped, so it doesn’t really matter that Meri left him. What mattered was that she sacrificed her dignity for such a long time, not believing in herself enough to take that crucial step. If she’d had real confidence, she wouldn’t have needed the cryptic posts, she’d just get over it. Right?

Instead, she kept treading water, staying in exactly the same place. Kody wasn’t going to change, which even the most casual Sister Wives viewer could have figured out. By trying to break down a psychological barrier that he erected following Meri’s unfortunate catfishing scandal, she embraced a stagnant and miserable marriage. How could that ever be the correct decision?

Did Meri Stay Because Of Money?

Her decision to stay may have been linked with her financial life. In fact, that’s the only explanation that really makes sense. As Kody’s so-called spouse, she could generate income online and onscreen. It might be harder to do that outside of the controversial Brown family.

Sure, it’s easy to feel sorry for Meri, but should people really do that? It could be argued that the catfishing was the byproduct of years of neglect by Kody. That may well be true, but they were married, and she cheated with a woman who was pretending to be a man. Aside from the humiliation, which was surely profound, Meri had to deal with Kody’s “zero sensitivity” attitude about her transgression. Where was his forgiveness? He would not forgive that slight to his ego, even though he probably should have. She was just lonely, after all.

Meri also erred by griping. That did her no good. Whining about a decision that was so carved in stone wasn’t going to change anything, and it made her look weak. Meanwhile, Robyn continued to pull the strings like a bona fide puppetmaster, steering the Brown family in a new direction.

After the Battle of Coyote Pass ended in dashed hopes, with a trio of wives running for the hills, what remained? Robyn, with Kody all to herself. She was sitting pretty while the former wives went berserk, venting onscreen and on social media. Under those tears, Robyn’s a very cool customer.

Following the shocking catfishing debacle, Meri and Kody went in circles. The conversations were so pointless. Their relationship was breaking down, month after month, with Kody refusing to even try to understand why Meri stepped out of the marriage. Possibly, he was consumed with his love for “Sobbin’ Robyn,” and found Meri’s attempts to stay in his life peculiar. He was sending a very strong message that he’d had enough, and she didn’t listen. At this stage, the marriage with Meri was just for show. It was a farce.

Now, Meri’s out on her own, and hopefully, that will help her to see that being single is a million times better than what she had. She can do what she wants. By just letting go, she wins. However, Meri’s not blameless when it comes to their problems. It’s just a fact that she was unfaithful.
