Once again, despite Maxie being with child on GENERAL HOSPITAL, portrayer Kirsten Storms is not pregnant! Returning to the studio on Jan. 21, the actress shared a photo from the soap’s wardrobe department and made sure to let fans know this baby is totally fictional.
“Back at GH after a lovely winter break,” she captioned the mirror selfie showing off what she called her “returning to work outfit of the day.”
But Storms made a point of also adding, “Until I put my fake pregnancy belly and wardrobe on,” to drive home the point that Maxie is the one who is pregnant right now, not her.
Back in 2018, when Maxie was carrying her and Nathan’s son, James, the actress also found the fans jumping to conclusions and she had to take to social media to announce that she was not pregnant.
Sometimes soaps will write in an actress’ real-life pregnancy — THE BOLD & THE BEAUTIFUL is doing just that right now with Jacqueline MacInnes Wood (Steffy), who is expecting her second child — but most times it’s just the character who is pregnant and wardrobe provides the padded baby bump and maternity clothes for the star to wear for the duration of the storyline.
Oh, and for those of you wondering about Storms’ stylish “returning to work outfit of the day,” the jacket is from Young Fabulous & Broke (“It’s fully lined and oh-so-soft!”), the T-shirt is a vintage Paul McCartney tee (“Found at a thrift store.”), Joe’s Jeans, Vince Camuto shoes (“I think they are available now at Nordstrom Rack.”), and the bag is Valentino.
Of course, Maxie can’t wear that kind of ensemble right now as she is expecting Peter’s baby!
