General Hospital Spoilers: Nina Signs Divorce Papers & Finally Lets Go – Officially Moves On from Sonny?

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Valentin Cassadine (James Patrick Stuart) potentially gave Nina Corinthos (Cynthia Watros) a huge wakeup call about who she is and what she’s worth.

It was nice to hear Valentin lift Nina up in the March 20 episode, especially since it didn’t seem like he had any ulterior romantic motives.

There was a time when Valentin would’ve jumped at the chance to get back together with Nina, but he doesn’t consider himself worthy anymore.

However, Valentin certainly doesn’t consider Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) worthy either – especially when Nina’s been torturing herself nonstop trying to earn his love and forgiveness.

Nina has been stuck in “must win Sonny back” mode from the moment he dumped her, but many fans are over it by now. Is Nina reaching the point where she’s over it, too?

There’s only so much you can do to fix a relationship if the other person won’t meet you halfway.

The show has been teasing the potential of a Sonny and Ava Jerome (Maura West) romance, but now Natalia Ramirez (Eva LaRue) might be another option based on her recent chemistry test with Sonny.

Since GH is shopping Sonny around with other love interests, there’s perhaps no need for Nina to keep fighting for something she can’t have.

If this reunion isn’t going to happen, Nina should just surrender and start the healing process.

Valentin praised Nina for being a magnificent, brilliant and resilient woman, so he boosted her confidence and helped her see that she’s capable of big things.

Nina doesn’t need Sonny to be happy if she’s willing to chase after happiness in other ways.

It’s easy to see that with the writing transition, some major character transformations are happening all over the canvas.

Maybe they’re working toward a better version of Nina who accepts that her marriage to Sonny is over.

Let’s be honest: Nina is looking pretty pathetic at this point. It would be a refreshing change of pace if Nina surprised Sonny by signing the divorce papers and letting that be that.

Even if Sonny and Nina still end up getting back together down the road, it shouldn’t be because Nina groveled and whined her way into making it happen.

It should be because the love between Sonny and Nina was too powerful to leave behind.

That may prove to be the case in time, but Nina will never know unless she stops embarrassing herself and just gives all this a rest.

If Nina and Sonny are meant to be, they’ll come back around. If they aren’t, then Nina can move on from Sonny with her head held high!
