GH Spoilers: Jason Reclaims Dex’s Role in Sonny’s Organization – Best Person for Mob Job

General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) is finally making his long-awaited return to the ABC soap, so that brings an obvious question: What’s next for Dex Heller (Evan Hofer) now that Jason is coming back in the picture?

Dex stepped up to help fill the void in Jason’s absence, but he arguably doesn’t have what it takes to be a proper right-hand man for Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard).

GH writers have always played up Jason as the hitman with the heart of gold, but he’s still willing to go “Stone Cold” when need be. There’s a certain edge to Jason that Dex just doesn’t have.

It looks like the show plans to highlight that based on some 2024 preview spoilers.

Dex will be given an order that he finds tough to carry out, so that may involve some lethal mission for Sonny.

Jason would probably do it no questions asked, but Dex will seemingly be torn about going too far – and that could pave the way for him to get replaced.

There’s no contest when it comes to who Sonny truly trusts to have his back anyway. It’s always going to be Jason over Dex or anyone else.

That’s especially true since Dex and Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) are keeping a huge secret that’s destined to blow up.

Now that the show no longer needs Dex as a Jason placeholder, perhaps it’s time for Sonny to find out Michael hired Dex as a plant in his organization.

Michael wanted to send Sonny to prison and hired Dex to make that dream a reality.

Although Michael ultimately backed out of the plot, Sonny deserves to know what went on behind his back.

Dex may get exposed and fired down the road, so he’ll probably be lucky if he lives to tell the tale!

Jason can slide back in his old role once he’s revealed to be alive, which is good news since he’s truly the best person for the job.

Dex may end up finding work outside of the mob now that hints are emerging about him not having what it takes to carry out Sonny’s worst orders.
