Eden has been absent on General Hospital and fans think they know why

Eden McCoy, star of General Hospital, has been temporarily replaced by actress Courtney Fulk.

This sudden change came as a surprise to fans, especially since Eden recently won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Performer.

The show’s spokesperson explained that Eden is on a short break and will be back in January.

However, fans speculate that she might need time to grieve after losing her mother last month.

Fans have shown their support for the actress all over social media.

“Can’t wait til she’s ready to come back. God bless you E and I know your beautiful mama is smiling down at you.”

“Hope our lovely Eden is feeling well – it’s very understandable she needs time to herself to grieve, I’m glad #GH is giving this sweet angel that,” one fan said.

They added: “It’s not easy losing a parent especially so young, my heart is with her. Glad we have a temp until our real Joss comes back!”

Eden shared the sad news about her mum on Instagram with a picture of her.

She wrote: “It feels bizarre and almost performative to make a post so personal on the most impersonal space, but many people who knew my mother and also knew me didn’t know what was going on, and this is the easiest way to let everyone know,”

She also wrote about her mum fighting cancer and called her “the best thing I have ever known.”

At the end of her long message, she said: “My one wish is that we will meet again. You carried me with you for nine months and now I will carry you forever. I see you everywhere.”
