According to the General Hospital spoilers, it’s time to give Charlotte a break. She’s been manipulated by her family including Victor Cassadine (Charles Shaughnessy).
In the meantime, fans have ruthlessly attacked the character and actress. The backlash to this storyline has gotten out of control. The user Divergent noted this on the SoapCentral.com Message Boards.
“She’s only a kid. I have been reading topic after topic about how Charlotte is this and that and how she needs to be punished etc…Give the kid a break, it’s not like one day she woke up and decided to vandalize Anna. She too is a victim of manipulation, she doesn’t know any better,” the original poster argued.
The backlash has gotten out of control. Some fans agreed with the user. One fan noted that other viewers have called for Charlotte to be shot. Other fans cried that she should get prison time. Most of those fans who hate her are defending another criminal on the daytime soap.
One fan argued: “She’s not a child. She’s a teen. She’s old enough to know better. She committed a crime and should face some consequences!”
Another user noted: “At this point, she doesn’t deserve jail because she hasn’t gone before a judge and jury. We don’t even know if Victor brainwashed her or just manipulated her. Young people’s brains don’t develop fully until age 25 so they make all sorts of bad decisions.”

The General Hospital spoilers suggest they were aware of what Charlotte did to Anna. However, they still let her lie. They only cared about protecting her and not getting the help she needed. They also never punish or scold her for what she’s done.
