General Hospital (GH) spoilers reveal that Portia Robinson (Brook Kerr) was hoping to reconnect in the bedroom with Curtis Ashford (Donnell Turner), but things didn’t go according to plan. Although Curtis should be able to perform the physical act of lovemaking according to his doctor, that doesn’t mean he’s ready to take that step again.
Curtis opened up to Portia in GH’s October 18 episode and tried to help her understand how he’s feeling like less of a man since he can’t give her what she needs.
There’s a psychological element to all this, so that’s hindering the steamy side of Curtis and Portia’s relationship.
Since Curtis is having a tough time adjusting to his paralysis and the new physical limitations of his life, he isn’t sure he’ll ever be able to satisfy Portia the way she’s hoping.
Of course, Portia assured Curtis that she could be patient. Even if Curtis is never ready to do the things they used to do, Portia acted like she could be OK with that.
However, soap characters have certainly been known to break promises and surrender to temptation, especially when they’re feeling lonely and rejected.
Although Portia felt closer to Curtis after he opened up, it’ll be easy for the distance to creep back in if they remain out of sync on the topic of passion.
Naturally, there could be other sources of conflict and stress – like Selina Wu’s (Lydia Look) relentless pressure over The Savoy and Cyrus Renault’s (Jeff Kober) freedom now that he’s descended on Port Charles again.
Curtis and Portia could end up clashing, especially if Curtis tries to overcompensate with moves that he believes will protect his family.
Portia might disagree and feel like Curtis is inviting more danger instead, so there’s the potential for some serious drama.
Could all this build to Portia cheating on Curtis with another man? It’s possible Portia will go back on her word and find herself unable to wait for Curtis after all.
Portia might regret caving in with someone else in the passion department, but infidelity is certainly an option to consider.
If Portia hits the sheets with a new guy or perhaps lands back in bed with an ex like Marcus Taggert (Réal Andrews), it could lead to her marriage crumbling for good!
