Meri Brown has long struggled with feeling that her marriage to Kody Brown is meaningful. He has told her many times that he wants nothing romantic with her. Plus, she shared that they had not been intimate in over a decade which was hard to believe. At that point, it made Meri look quite pathetic to viewers. What was she not getting and why was she sticking around in the plural family? It appeared that she was sticking around because she loved Robyn’s kids and because of her religious obligations.
Finally, she got the memo that she and Kody were never going to be more than just surface-level friends so they split up. However, with Season 18 having been filmed in 2021/2022, Meri Brown was still dedicated to her marriage. In a clip from TLC, she and Robyn Brown are chatting about time spent with Kody. In a plural marriage, the husband is supposed to spend equal time with each wife. Yet, Meri noticed that was not happening. So, prior to Robyn entering as the fourth wife, she decided to track.
She started to count the days that he was with her as well as second and third wives, Janelle and Christine. Meri quickly saw that he was with her less than a third of the time which meant it was not fair or equal. By 2014, she had told him she needed some space, and the two divorced. The purpose of the divorce was so he could wed Robyn and adopt her three children from a previous marriage. Sadly, along with the catfishing incident, it spelled the ending of their marriage.

So, what did Sister Wives fans think of Meri Brown sharing her secret? “Imagine worrying about this man spending not enough time with you🤮 so glad they ditched him,” one follower wrote. Another added: “They signed up for getting 1/4 of a man’s love. I have no sympathy for them.” Robyn Brown revealed to Meri that she actually tracked Kody, as well, and found the same thing. Of course, she has no leg to stand on now that she is the only one who wants to be with.
