Sister Wives Meri Brown Compares Robyn To Turkey

In the Season 18 premiere of Sister Wives, the conversation continued to the holidays. Janelle and Christine Brown were both not celebrating at Robyn’s home. However, Meri Brown would be in attendance along with their husband, Kody Brown. This makes sense as Meri’s only child lives out of state and she is really close with Robyn and Kody’s five children. Then, there was a flashback to the previous Thanksgiving when Janelle and Christine also opted to celebrate elsewhere. Yet, Meri showed up but she noted how she brought a candy turkey made of Rice Krispie Treats.

Meri Brown also added that she used to make the turkey but once Kody tasted Robyn’s, he didn’t want hers any longer. This made her laugh as she realized this could be a metaphor for their whole plural marriage. Even Twitter blew up the moment that she made the turkey comment.

Then, a Reddit thread started over this whole situation. The OP noted how Meri seemed a little shocked at what she said about the turkeys and then busted out laughing. Other Redditors felt that it was a bummer Christine Brown and Meri did not have a decent relationship after leaving Kody. They felt that the two of them would have a field day cracking up over their ex. Unfortunately, Christine didn’t care for the way that she was treated by Meri. Therefore, she did not want a relationship with her post-split.

A Sad Situation

Though many fans admitted that it was funny when Meri Brown make the turkey analogy, they ultimately realized how sad it was. Meri was clearly alone and very desperate to be in the family no matter how poorly Kody treated her. She even said that he referred to her as a “friend” but added at least friends talk to each other. Now that they are split up, it will be interesting to see what happens for the holidays this year.

What did you think of the turkey moment? Do you think it was a metaphor for how the marriages played out?
