NBC has announced the latest batch of contenders vying for the title of ‘The Biggest Loser’ and its accompanying $25,000 prize. The show’s tenth season (yes, tenth!) premieres on Tue., Sept. 21, and will feature a “pay it forward” theme.
The 21 contestants hail from all across the U.S. and range in age from 22 to 58, and come with a variety of TV-ready back stories — one is a military wife/foster parent, one is a high school counselor, one is Beyonce’s backup singer, one is a former swimsuit model, one is trying to set a good example for his kids.
This season’s new twist: In an attempt to encourage more people to get healthy, the entire ‘BL’ crew, including trainers Bob Harper and Jillian Michaels and host Alison Sweeney, will host “fitness challenges” in seven U.S. cities. Three wannabe contestants will be competing, and the top two finishers will be invited to the ranch.
