A new sketch comedy show premiered, picking up the reigns from ‘In Living Color’ and ‘Chappelle’s Show.’ In fact, on ‘In the Flow with Affion Crockett’ (Sun., 9PM ET on FOX), Crockett even had relatives of Chappelle and the Wayans on to make it official, sort of. They were on right before he showed us his send-up of Chappelle.
As you would expect with a sketch comedy show, the quality of the shorts varied dramatically. We loved the guest spots by Snoop Dogg, Russell Simmons and Samuel L. Jackson throughout the back-to-back installments we got in this premiere, but for every funny bit like Snoop Dogg in an ‘Avatar’ send-up, there were disappointing misfires like the arrogant gospel singer.
