Mel Gibson’s ‘The Beaver’ Gets Release Date, First Still

Looks like the troubled Jodie Foster-directed production ‘The Beaver’ will finally hit the big screen.

Summit Entertainment has scheduled a Spring 2011 release date for the film that stars Mel Gibson as a man on a journey to re-discover his family and re-start his life. According to the official synopsis, Walter Black (Gibson) was once a successful toy executive and family man who now suffers from depression. No matter what he tries, Walter can’t seem to get himself back on track … until a beaver hand puppet enters his life.

Above is one of the first stills from the film; the first trailer will premiere Friday evening on Entertainment Tonight, followed by iTunes Trailers.
