‘Mad Men’ Season 5 Starts Shooting August 8 (Thank Goodness)

‘Mad Men’ fans, pour yourselves a scotch and rest easy: The long-delayed Season 5 of the critically acclaimed AMC drama will begin shooting in less than two weeks.

While new episodes of the show may not air until early 2012 thanks to a dispute between AMC and Lionsgate, any movement is good news after an off-season that’s dragged on longer than the NFL lockout.

The show’s first day of shooting is scheduled for Monday, Aug. 8, according to a report in EW. Jon Hamm will be directing the Season 5 premiere, making his directorial debut.
