If you can’t get enough Kick-Ass, the good news is that you won’t have to wait too terribly long to see the continuation of Mark Millar’s tale. The potentially bad news (at least for those of you who don’t enjoy reading … ) is that you’ll be checking it out in comic book form well before it ever sees the light of a film projector’s bulb.
Forces of Geek shared a press release yesterday announcing the debut of CLiNT Magazine, a new publishing venture between Millar and Titan Magazines. “This is The Eagle for the 21st Century,” says Millar. “I’ve worked on everything from Spider-Man comics to the Iron Man movie for Marvel in New York, but what really excites me is the gap I see in the UK market at the moment. There are absolutely no comic-books aimed at 16-30 year old guys and I think CLiNT has potential to make an enormous impact, bringing a new type of magazine to a new generation.”
To make sure this happens, the creator has enlisted the aid of Jonathan Ross and Frankie Boyle and will also be featuring Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall in the first issue. It will be serialized over six months while plans are in the works to begin production on the film version in either 2011 or 2012.
