Teen pop sensation Justin Bieber dominated last night’s American Music Awards, winning four trophies. “I can’t stop smiling” he said afterward.
Although the ceremony featured pop veterans New Kids on the Block and Backstreet Boys — the Ghosts of Teenyboppers Past, perhaps? — performing together, the night belonged to Bieber. He became the youngest winner of the top award, for Artist of the Year, and also won awards for Best Pop/Rock Male, Best Breakthrough Artist and Best Album.
When he accepted the top AMA honor, Bieber invited R&B star Usher to join him on-stage. Recognizing how Usher helped launch his career, Bieber called him “not only my mentor but my best friend and my big brother.”
