If you want to win your case on ‘Judge Judy’ (weekdays, syndicated), make sure you get your evidence together in a timely fashion. A woman learned that the hard way on today’s episode when she was sued for not paying for a treadmill she bought from a co-worker. The woman claimed the treadmill wasn’t working when she got it in September. Trouble is, she didn’t have anyone look at it until April.
The woman said she didn’t use it until November. That did not cut it with Judge Judy. “I don’t care,” she said. “You had it. If you said to me, ‘As soon as she gave it to me, it went out,’ maybe we would talk. But you didn’t have somebody look at it until last week. That is not reasonable evidence that when she sold it to you, she sold to you a non-functioning machine.”
