‘Black Swan’ was the big winner at the 2011 Film Independent Spirit Awards. The ballet drama won four awards, including the ceremony’s most coveted prize, Best Feature.
The film also snagged awards for Best Director (Darren Aronofsky), Best Female Lead (Natalie Portman) and Best Cinematography (Matthew Libatique). Portman is a heavy favorite to win Best Actress headed into tomorrow night’s Oscar telecast.
Meanwhile, Oscar nominee James Franco won Best Male Lead for his performance in the Danny Boyle drama ‘127 Hours,’ in which he plays real-life mountain climber Aron Ralston, who was forced to amputate his own arm after it became trapped by a boulder in 2003.
Franco, who is co-hosting the Oscars with Anne Hathaway, previously won Best Supporting Male in 2009 for ‘Milk.’
