Jonah Hill, a die-hard L.A. Lakers fan, once pissed off team coach Phil Jackson (who just won his 11th NBA championship ring) in the middle of a game. On ‘The Tonight Show’ (weeknights, 11:35PM ET on NBC), Hill explained that it was all for a good cause — comedy — but he hasn’t recovered from feeling like he let the team down.
For a ‘Curb Your Enthusiasm’ episode, he was asked to “switch chairs with [the actors], go to the two seats over for five minutes so [they] can shoot this bit [during the game],” said Hill.
That went smoothly, but switching back proved more difficult, and the coach himself lashed out. “It was like having your dad yell at you, because Phil’s like my hero.” And given that Jackson’s been a little busy winning basketball games, Hill hasn’t had to chance to apologize.
