The word “extreme” seems to get thrown around a lot these days. We have extreme sodas, extreme sporting events, and so on and so forth. And we’re a little skeptical about some of these things, to be honest. So we’ll just actually have to tune in to the show ‘Extreme Cuisine With Jeff Corwin’ (Thu., 8PM ET on Food Network) — in order to learn if it’s really EXTREME TO THE MAX.
On the latest episode of the show, host (and “food anthropologist”) Jeff Corwin travels to New Zealand, where he hunts down an obscure species of eel. Supposedly, these eels are good eating, but in order to reach them, you have to rappel down into a cave. Also, the cave is pitch black, and is filled with waist-deep, freezing cold water.
