It was the day Jimmy and the Commodore had been waiting for on ‘Boardwalk Empire’ (Sun., 9PM ET on HBO). A seemingly beaten and humbled Nucky Thompson walked into their presence and announced that he was done. Losing his father and nearly his own life has made him realize that he doesn’t need all the chaos that goes with Atlantic City.
So he resigned his post as Treasurer and is looking to retire. The smile on Jimmy’s face was probably enough to make Nucky grit his teeth, but he was playing the long game. Of course Nucky isn’t going to ride off into the sunset. He’s just reevaluating existing strategies and making new moves.
