- The Playlist chatted with Vincent Cassel about the progress of the previously-announced Eastern Promises 2. Turns out the script is in the bag, but the actor believes David Cronenberg wants to make at least one more movie before returning to the world of Russian gangsters. If it does get made, Eastern Promises 2 would mark the first time Cronenberg has ever directed a sequel.

- Disney fans mark your calendars: Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie will open March 9, 2012; Andrew Stanton’s John Carter of Mars is set for June 8th, 2012.

- Considering his name is attached to a dozen new movies every month, I wouldn’t expect this to stick just yet, but for now Timur Bekmambetov’s next directorial job will be an adaptation of Seth Grahame-Smith’s Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.
