Tony La Russa, 'Late Show with David Letterman'Mere hours after announcing his retirement, St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony La Russa was sitting on the couch opposite David Letterman on ‘Late Show’ (Weeknights, 12:37AM ET on CBS). The two talked about his storied career, and the Cardinals improbable run toward World Series champions this season.

La Russa was humble in speculating on his potential for a spot in the Hall of Fame, and joked about potential future work. He figures he’ll probably continue working in baseball, but also said that the first job offer he’s seen is for an elephant keeper for the Performing Animal Welfare Society. That would certainly be a change of pace.
