Britney Spears is ready to unleash her “I Wanna Go” music video. The Chris Marrs Piliero-directed clip will hit the Web on Wednesday at 6 a.m. ET. This is the third single off Spears’ Femme Fatale, following up “Hold It Against Me” and “Till the World Ends.”

This date is particularly important as it means that Spears just makes the June 24 deadline for the video to qualify for a 2011 Video Music Award, Billboard.com reports. The video was shot late last month in the Los Angeles area. Little else is known about the actual concept for the clip, but given the song’s lyrical content, it seems that dancing will be featured.

Piliero recently worked with Ke$ha on her cheeky “Blow” video. He’s also worked with indie acts like the Black Keys and pop rockers like Yellowcard. On Thursday, he gave fans an update on the video via Twitter. “Hey Brit fans … whenever I get deep into a project, I tend to not do much tweeting, so let’s do a quick catch up … finished editing the ‘I Wanna Go’ music video … love it … met up with @britneyspears … we watched it together … she loved it …,” he wrote. “Stoked …”

Produced by Max Martin and Shellback, “I Wanna Go” is a funky dance track about going out, letting loose and having a great time, regardless of the consequences. On the song, Spears coos, “Lately I’ve been stuck imaginin’/ What I wanna do and what I really think, time to blow out/ Be a little inappropriate ’cause I know that everybody’s/ Thinkin’ it when the lights out/ Shame on me/ To need release/ Un-uncontrollably.”
