After spending a bunch of years in our current home, Cinematical is about to get a major re-vamp. We’re moving into new digs, joining forces with the folks at Moviefone to create one mega-movies site. Don’t worry, Cinematical isn’t going anywhere — we will continue to be the source for news, reviews, interviews, festival coverage, original features, columns and more; and we’re also getting a sleek, spacious new layout that puts more focus on the content our all-star staff of writers churn out on a daily basis. Think of it like we’re finally upgrading from a cramped studio apartment to a pretty sweet two-bedroom in a doorman building.
A “treehouse of awesomeness” is the way I’ve been describing it around Cinematical headquarters, but you should think of it as two giant online movie sources coming together in a way that is sure to revolutionize the way you read about movies online. Quite frankly, when all is said and done, you won’t need to go anywhere else for your daily dose of film related content (though we can’t provide that morning cup of coffee — sorry, but you’re on the hook for that).
So, with all that being said, the next couple of days are going to be a bit wonky around here as we shift to a new design and all the folks behind the scenes tinker with everything till they get it just so. We apologize in advance if the site doesn’t work the way it normally does, or look the way it normally does, as a lot of work has to be done in order to make this whole thing go just swimmingly.
In the meantime, feel free to let us know what you’d like to see more of on Cinematical in the future. Not only are we re-launching the site, but we’re sort of re-launching our imaginations as well, and we want you to be the biggest part of this exciting new transition. Thanks for reading, and here’s to new beginnings!
