Singer Amy Winehouse spent much of her short life in the public eye, enthralling fans and critics with her music, and attracting controversy for her substance abuse problems and messy personal life.
But behind the lurid headlines she was also a much-loved daughter. Her grieving parents sat down with Anderson Cooper on the series premiere of ‘Anderson’ (Weekdays, Syndicated) to talk about how they’ve been coping since her death.
Struggling to control her emotions, Amy’s mom Janis comforted her ex-husband Mitch as he covered his face with a handkerchief and wept while Cooper played a clip of Amy singing ‘To Know Him is to Love Him.’
The former cab driver said they have struggled to go on since Amy died, and he broke down as he spoke of the special bond that existed between him and his daughter.
