Great news for all those Angelenos who think they’ve got what it takes to win ‘American Idol’!
The show’s producers have announced that they’re expanding the search for new talent by adding Los Angeles as the seventh, and final, city to host auditions for the upcoming 10th season.
Producers say the extra auditions are a celebration of the show’s “momentous” tenth anniversary and will give tens of thousands of people a chance to show off their singing chops. And this year the eligibility age range has been increased to include hopefuls from 15 to 28 years of age.
Executive producer Ken Warwick said it’s also a vote of thanks and acknowledgement to Los Angeles itself: “This summer we have had an exceptional turnout — both in the number of people auditioning and the level of their talent. … Los Angeles has always delivered great talent, and so we feel it only fitting that we end our tenth season audition tour here in our home city.”
