Bandwagon-jumpers just getting into the TV miracle known as ‘Friday Night Lights’ will now have to look elsewhere for their Dillon Panthers fix: ABC Family, which began airing reruns of the NBC drama last month, has yanked the not-really-about-football show from its lineup.
The network confirmed to The Ausiello Files that the series failed to nab the necessary ratings to keep it on the schedule. “It wasn’t performing from a ratings standpoint,” said a spokesperson. “We moved it around the schedule, but unfortunately it wasn’t holding up.”
But don’t get tears in those clear eyes just yet, because you can still watch the show online — as long as you’re a Netflix subscriber. All four seasons of the show are available streaming on the company’s Watch Instantly service. Alternately, you can watch the last five episodes of the fourth season on Slashcontrol.
